Chile prepares for the new Cybersecurity and AI Law 🔐
August 13, 2025
In the coming weeks, the new Cybersecurity Framework Law will come into force, along with specific regulations on data protection and responsible use of artificial intelligence. This regulation, promoted by the Government of Chile and aligned with international standards such as NIST and the upcoming European AI law, seeks to strengthen the resilience of companies and institutions against increasingly sophisticated digital threats (ciberseguridad.gob.cl).
The law introduces concrete requirements: business continuity plans, incident response protocols, periodic audits, and mandatory reports to the National Cybersecurity Agency. For medium and large companies, this will not only be a legal obligation but also an opportunity to strengthen their reputation and trust in the market.
Cyberattacks in Latin America grew by more than 30% in the first half of 2025, according to IBM Security, and Chile is among the most affected countries. In this scenario, adopting a robust cybersecurity strategy is no longer optional: it is a requirement for business continuity and competitiveness (securityintelligence.com).
At #YoutouchCL we are in the final phase of ISO 27001 certification, the international standard for information security management. This experience has allowed us to support clients from different sectors in implementing preventive measures, early threat detection, and agile incident response.
