💙🇨🇱 When a country comes together: Teletón, the goal achieved, and the role of technology in the rehabilitation of the future
December 2, 2025
Have you noticed that there are moments when Chile becomes a single voice? Every year, when Teletón arrives, something rare happens: millions of people pushing in the same direction, for one shared purpose. This year, an enormous goal was surpassed — more than 44 billion pesos — and while it may seem like just a number, behind it lies something much deeper.
Because reaching the goal means something simple but enormous: that thousands of children and young people will continue receiving high-cost rehabilitation without paying a single peso. Therapies, prosthetics, complex treatments, professional teams, advanced technology… everything that would otherwise be impossible for most families.
But after the celebration comes the question: how do we sustain this model for the next 10, 20, or 30 years?
This is where technology stops being an “extra” and becomes a necessity.
The rehabilitation of the future will be hybrid, more precise, more accessible, and more human. Telemedicine platforms, exercises guided by computer vision, remote monitoring, real-time progress analysis, therapeutic video games that motivate children to improve… today this isn’t science fiction. It’s happening, and in Chile we’ve been part of that path.
At Youtouch we have over 10 years working alongside Teletón, co-creating platforms, experiences, digital tools, and solutions that bring rehabilitation into thousands of homes. With them we learned that when technology is born from empathy, it can truly change lives: it reduces gaps, connects people at a distance, enables therapeutic continuity, and expands opportunities where there were none.
But the challenges ahead are enormous. The number of patients is increasing. Treatment costs are rising. Families need more support, more access, and more continuity. And as Chile ages and health gaps widen, the entire system will have to adapt to smarter, more scalable, and more inclusive models.
The question then becomes inevitable: how do we ensure that the rehabilitation of the future is more human, more efficient, and more connected?
The answer lies in a delicate balance: technology with purpose, innovation that respects dignity, and platforms that empower — not replace — the work of healthcare professionals.
Now, I invite you to look at yourself for a moment.
What would have changed in your life if you had access to technology supporting you through every health process?
And how would the lives of thousands of families change if we accelerate the arrival of these solutions?
If you’d like to discuss how we can build the next generation of technology for health, rehabilitation, and digital care together, at Youtouch we’re ready.
